That's not actually baseless.
Darius doesn't look like a pauper. He is a higher level in the beggar job.
Therefore it's logical that higher levels mean that Smoke will be able to change back and forth when he gets higher levelled in his job..... He could get Sierra to sell all his stuff, then he go beg for gold and she could keep giving it to him again and again. Giving her a better Disposition and therefore not Chaotic Red.

I think something like turning others will be restricted to witches.
If she becomes a Moon Knight she wouldn't be neutral that's certain.

What if Tristan was not actually an a-hole? Picture it, having chased him down with hatred and furry that's built up over months or even years Smoke finally corners him and he's quite a nice bloke. Correct me if i'm wrong, but the reason tristan used Smoke as bait in the first place was because he thought he was part of a trap. Not saintly but not a move we'd begrudge Smoke would we?
